This traditional jelly-like delight called “loukoumi” is made from starch and sugar and is a confection very popular amongst people of all ages not only in Greece, but in the whole Mediterranean region. Loukoumi is traditionally served with coffee or tea or with a glass of cold water as a welcome treat in Greek households. These loukoumia are individually wrapped for freshness and are presented in a metal gift tin which is decorated with a timeless black and white photo of people from Chios.
